8 October 2026, Penang — #CIMTConnects: The Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation (CIMT) paid a courtesy visit to YB Dato’ Dr. Jafri bin Abdul Jalil, State Secretary of Penang.
The meeting discussed Penang’s continued engagement in IMT-GT, particularly its contributions in the Chief Ministers’ and Governors’ Forum (CMGF) and the Green Cities agenda through the Penang Island Green City Action Plan (GCAP). The discussion also explored potential initiatives led by Penang which could further strengthen trade and connectivity between states and provinces under the IMT-GT platform.
The visit reaffirmed CIMT’s commitment to strengthening engagement with Penang and supporting greater local government participation in advancing IMT-GT cooperation.
